How long does it take for an implant uncovering to heal?

I had an implant placed about 6 months ago and my appointment to have it uncovered is Friday. I was wondering how long does it take for the uncovering to heal so that I can get the actual prosthetic tooth placed? Like how much longer am I in for until it's all done? I'm so sick of my flipper and I really want to kiss my new boyfriend but I'm afraid he'll feel it... haha.
