My godfather got shot and im really scared?

an officer came to my house an hour ago and told me my godfather, Kai, was shot at work by an angry customer. Kai was rushed to the hospital and the guy was arrested and me and Kai's niece and nephew were driven to the hospital. Kai's still in surgery and we've had no update. his niece, Ari keeps asking me where her uncle is and her brother Jamie isnt talking. these two have recently lost their parents and i can tell that they are scared now. but so am i! i dont know what to do? im so scared and i dont know what to say! what can i say to make them feel better without lying to them? please help...
