Fake teeth retainer question!?

My daughter has 2 fake teeth next to her front teeth on the top. she has had braces for almost 3 years. they moved all her teeth back and made spaces next to her two front teeth for where the teeth were missing. she has the fake teeth on her braces right now, but gets her braces off in 5 days. the orthodontist told her that she will have a retainer on the top. however, this retainer requires that a thin wire is showing on her top teeth. it will go through the middle of all her teeth, holding the fake teeth. she has to wear this until she is 20, or until her mouth is done growing so she can get her implants. she is quite upset at the fact that this wire is showing. the orthodontist also showed us a "flipper" which she can only wear for special occasions, seeing as it doesn't help keep her teeth in place at all. are there any other options she can get instead of the one she is getting as of now?
