I had a abscess in one of my top teeth on the right (tooth 5). The dentist said that it couldn't be saved?

probably because of the hole in the tooth. I have to have it extracted even though the antibiotics took care of the infection. I went to get fitted for a flipper and the dental hygienist asked me why I was having the tooth removed now. I was already nervous about having the tooth extracted. Her question made me even more so...why would she ask me that?
