Please help me with buying xbox to use in Saudi Arabia?

Hello. My friend went to a argos to buy a new xbox and give it to his nephew in Saudi Arabia as a gift. They told him you may not be able to use it in Saudi Arabia as there are some differences in the TV system between Saudi Arabia and the UK. He could not understand exactly what the problem is because he doesn't speak English very good. Does any body know what seems to be the problem?
